Life insurance for media persons sought
Islamabad. Jan. 31:- The Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists has asked the government to make arrangement on a war footing for protection of media workers, providing life insurance to them, and to constitute a victim fund, besides providing job security to them and taking steps for their capacity building and for ensuring a conducive working environment.
These demand were made in the FEC meeting held at Islamabad.
The FEC also demanded that in all government hospitals media workers be provided health facilities without any charges.
The FEC also demanded that a permanent and long-term planning be made for capacity enhancement of journalists, introduction of short courses at university levels for media workers.
The FEC also demanded that the government should facilitate media workers for their capacity building in the government sector universities free of cost.
The PFUJ also demanded that concrete steps be taken for job security, life protection and capacity building of media persons.
